solly wrap

May 23, 2018

When it comes to baby wraps, I’ll be the first to admit that they can be a little intimidating. After purchasing one with Olivia and never figuring it out, I felt it just wasn’t for me.  Luckily I decided to give it one more go and this time went with the Solly Wrap.  So thankful I didn’t throw in the towel because the Solly Wrap is as simple as it gets!  As a mom of 2 under 2, I use my Solly wrap every single day.  Without it I’d get absolutely nothing done. The Solly Wrap is so comfortable and soft (made of a certified Lenzing modal fabric) that you sometimes forget that you have it on (sans baby, of course!).  I’ve taken Baby James out and have transferred him to his rock in play many times and have forgotten to take my wrap off!  This could have a little something to with having mom brain, too.  😉

I’m in love with all the bright, airy colors of the Solly Wrap’s current Spring line.  Since my favorite color is mint green, I had to go with Fern, shown here. I also have it in deep graphite color called Orion.  Yes, I now own two of these baby wraps!  They have made life as a mom of two so much easier, especially since James likes to be held and needs to be soothed more than Olivia did.  I’m all about making the transition as a mom of two as smooth as possible, and this wrap gives me the freedom to tend to both of their needs.

Hey guys!

I can’t believe it’s been 5 weeks since I’ve had Baby James!  What a month it’s been!!  Baby boy is doing much better and we’re so thankful for all of your prayers and kind words.  With that said, last week I had to have emergency surgery on my appendix so things around here have been a little slow.  I’m grateful to have such sweet friends and family that have kept me sane during this crazy month!  Thank you guys for your patience and for understanding that this mama was a little too occupied with ‘life’ to tend to social media.

I’m just getting around to update y’all on a few of my favorite maternity looks during my third trimester.  I have to share one of my favorite maternity maxis from Pink Blush with you pregnant mamas.  All of my maxis this pregnancy have been from Pink Blush because of the quality and comfort.  I’ve learned the hard way that quality isn’t something you can skimp on when it comes to maxis (in general!).  I posted earlier this exact maxi in green here.  You can see my mild obsession.  I love that I can wear this postpartum, too because who has time to shop when you have a newborn?!

Shop my exact maxi dress at Pink Blush here.

Thank you guys again for all of your love and patience and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday!!

Hi friends!  Baby James has officially arrived!  He made his appearance on Sunday morning and it was quite the show.  I’ll share more of my story on his delivery next week, along with some pictures from our hospital shoot. Today I’m sharing this adorable little black maternity dress that I’ve worn to my last two events.  The only regret I have is wishing I would’ve had this dress earlier, because it would’ve grown with me!  I wore it the majority of my third trimester (I ordered a medium for reference) and got tons of compliments on it.  If there’s one thing I’ve learned while pregnant, it’s that you need a great LBD!

You can shop more LBDs by Pink Blush here.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Happy almost St. Patricks Day!

How fun for St. Patty’s Day to fall on a Saturday this year!  While most of you will be out celebrating, I’ll be counting down the days til my due date!  We had a scare on Thursday and spent a night at the hospital being monitored… I was almost certain he’d make his appearance. Once his heart rate was stabilized and my contractions slowed down, we were able to go home. My doctor was going to induce me if his heart rate continued to be sporadic.  While that would’ve been extremely convenient, I’m glad he’ll have at least a few more days to bake!

Today I’m sharing the most comfortable maternity maxi from Pink Blush that you could pull off pregnant or not pregnant.  No ruching- just a super soft cotton, breathable dress that I can’t get enough of.  I styled this look with my latest obsession- these neck scarf bandanas!  I get most of mine from Madewell and they’re super reasonable… this one is $12.  I feel like this trend takes any outfit to the next level and it’s super simple.

Thank you guys for stopping by and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Ivory Mesh Overlay Maternity Dress | Free People Hat (similar) | Necklace (Similar) | Jeffrey Campbell Booties

Hi guys!

It’s finally feeling like Spring here in Houston and you know what that means… it’s Rodeo time! I debated whether or not to take Olivia to her first rodeo this year, but with a nine month pregnant belly it just didn’t sound as fun. Plus, I’d be chasing her around all over the place! I’ll save that idea for next year when she’s a little older and can enjoy it more.

Now onto my look. I couldn’t think of a better maternity dress to wear than this ivory mesh overlay dress by Pink Blush. The material is so breathable (because at 38 weeks pregnant, that’s important!) and I know I’ll get plenty of wear out of it after pregnancy too. Not to mention it’s just $55, so to me it’s a steal! I paired it with a floppy hat by Free People and my go-to booties with a bit of a western flare. Rodeo ready and one happy mama!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Is it just me or does it seem like I was just wishing you guys a Happy February?  It’s scary how fast these months have been rolling by.  I’m officially 3 weeks away from meeting my little man and feel so unprepared.  I’ve been interviewing for a sitter/nanny and haven’t had much luck… Why is it so hard to find a part-time one?!

Today I’m sharing this must-have Kimi + Kai little black dress for my mamas.  It’s super comfy and the quality is amazing.  It’s not your typical, thin maternity dress and has lining that helps hold everything in place.  I love this dress because you can play it up with pumps and a clutch, or dress it down with sneakers and a crossbody.  Added bonus: if you’re unsure of your size, Kimi + Kai offers free returns!  I promise you’ll love this maternity dress– it’s the most multi-purpose one I own!

Hope everyone has had a great week and as always, thank you for stopping by!

Hi friends!  Happy Tuesday!

We’ll I’ve officially hit the ‘4 weeks to-go’ mark and I couldn’t be more ready!  I’m basically living in workout clothes and maxi dresses, because 3rd trimester life!  Does anyone else want to stay in sweats (or better yet, a robe!) once you hit the final stretch?!

Today I’m sharing the most comfortable, lightweight zip-up jacket that’s perfect for us girls in the South.  I literally keep this in my car because Houston weather has been so crazy these days.  I love that I can layer with this jacket too because it’s so lightweight.  An added bonus: subscribe to Kimi + Kai emails and get 10% off your purchase!

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Baby James Sprinkle

February 13, 2018

I usually don’t share personal things on my blog, but I’m trying to change it up a bit and share more of my ‘real life’.

On Saturday, my sister and mom showered me in the most special way – we celebrated the (soon-to-be arrival) of Baby James.  I cannot believe that I’m actually 35 weeks pregnant.  This pregnancy has been completely opposite than my pregnancy with Olivia.  I had a lot more energy, felt better, was a lot more active and slept better when I was pregnant the first time around.  This second time has thrown me for a loop to say the least!  That said, I feel so blessed to be able to experience this incredible moment and realize how much of a gift pregnancy truly  is.  Sharing some of my favorites from the Sprinkle.  How adorable are the decorations my sister made?

Thank you for stopping by!

my must-have maternity coat

Hey friends!

If you’re in Houston then you’ll completely understand this post!  This weather has been CRAZY!  I literally keep a coat, scarf and a pair of flats in my car at all times.  You never know what you’ll need?!  That said, when you’re 8 months pregnant the last thing you want to encounter is a coat that doesn’t button over your bump.  I actually experienced this first-hand last month in Vail– and it wasn’t fun!  Did you know that they actually make maternity coats?  How adorable is this chic coat from Kimi and Kai?  It’s comfortable yet doesn’t feel oversized or like a ‘maternity’ coat.   I’ll get wear out of this coat both pregnant and postpartum.  My only regret is not having this piece in the earlier winter months of my pregnancy!

Hi friends!

How is it already February?!  I swear we were just celebrating 2018!!  That said, do you have any special Valentine’s Day plans?  Our Valentine’s dates have changed quite a bit since we’ve become parents– and to be honest, I kind of love it!  Don’t get me wrong, I love getting all dolled up for a nice dinner and drinks with my hubby, but when you’re 8 months pregnant all you want to do in curl up in bed with sweats on and a fresh face with no makeup!

For all those pregnant and definitely more fun than I am these days, I’m sharing the perfect Valentine’s Day maternity date-night dress.  I adore this soft blush color, especially with Spring around the corner.  The lace details and light fabric also sold me- since this is more of an investment piece.  I’ll be wearing it to my Sprinkle next week, too.  I paired it with nude booties (a must for everyone, I feel) and white tassel earrings from Baublebar.  Such a fresh and fun look.

I hope everyone has a great week and amazing Valentine’s Day!
