L’Occitane Peony Collection

August 23, 2017

If there’s one thing you know about me, it’s that my love for beauty and skincare products is strong!  Being around the fashion industry for well over a decade (yikes, that shows my age) has taught me the importance of taking care of my skin and investing in great beauty products.  Now, as a new mommy, I’m finding it’s harder to find the time to pamper myself.  I’ve also noticed that my skin has been uber sensitive since I’ve had Olivia, so I’m always careful when selecting which products to put on my face.

Today I’m excited to share my at-home spa experience with L’Occitane and their latest Peony Collection.  What we put on our skin is extremely important.  You always want to check for a chemical-free, plant-based product.  After all, you’re putting this on your face!  I always opt for clean, non-toxic beauty products.  That is exactly why I love L’Occitane.  The majority of their products have minimal ingredients and are based from plant extracts.  From the delicious floral scent, to silky texture of each mask, L’Occitane’s Peony collection helps to brighten and moisturize your skin in the most spa-like way.  Added incentive?  You can achieve this in the comfort of your own home!  Did I mention that peony extract found in each mask is from Drôme in the south of France?

Each mask from the Peony collection targets a specific issue, including hydration, purification, and an intense overnight mask for dry skin.  The hydration and purifying masks are quick 3 minute masks that you can apply in the morning or right before bed.  I applied mine first thing in the morning and opted for a makeup-free day because my face felt so fresh afterwards.  Words cannot describe how much softer my skin was after a quick 3 minute mask.  I will be using this regularly without any hesitation.  Yesterday was my first time sleeping with the overnight mask.  I woke up with my skin looking refreshed and feeling softer than ever.

Their next product from the Peony Collection is the Peony Petal Cleansing Oil.  This oil feels and smells like heaven!  Remember the peony extract from the south of France I mentioned earlier?  This product is actually infused with real peony petals from Provence and the packaging is gorgeous!!  The oil helps gently remove impurities all while keeping the skin hydrated and refreshed.  When I applied this product, my skin instantly had a glow to it.  Where has this been all my life?!  I can assure you that this collection is here to stay in the Gentry household.

There’s a reason L’Occitane is currently celebrating it’s 40th anniversary.  The company is passionate about discovering new, plant-based products and continues to create award-winning innovations .  Just let the reviews speak for themselves. 🙂

Thank you L’Occitane for sponsoring this post.  As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I mentioned earlier this week how I can’t believe mid-August is here… how did that happen?!  It’s crazy how quickly this year has gone by, not to mention that Olivia’s first birthday is coming up next month (insert ugly cry face here).  She’s already walking at 11 months old!!  Talk about having my hands full!!

Today I’m sharing this beachy resort look (if you follow along, you’ll know that this is one of my favorite styles to wear).  You can throw this over a bathing suit, or wear it throughout the day.  You can’t go wrong either way!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Yumi Kim Maxi | Marc Fisher Wedges | Earrings | Bracelet | Chloe Crossbody | Oliver Peoples Sunglasses (similar)

I hope you guys are having an awesome week!

Absolutely fell in love with this dress when I found it browsing the internet.  I can’t tell you how much use I’ve already gotten out of it!  I wore to my niece’s graduation and received so many compliments on it that night (college kids are so sweet!!).  I’ve since worn it to a dear friend’s baby shower, brunch with the girls and to an Estee Lauder blogger event held at Tiny’s last month.  I kid you not when I say this dress has already paid itself off!  The best thing is that I bought it in June so it’ll get lots of play this summer.

Mother’s Day with L’Occitane

May 9, 2017

As a new mom, Mother’s Day is going to be extra special this year.  I can’t wait to start new traditions and pass them down to my daughter.  I’ve partnered with L’Occitane to share perfect Mother’s Day gift with you.

Since I was a little girl, I can remember playing in my mom’s beauty products and pretending to be just like her.  I remember the makeup brushes, perfumes, nail polishes and all of the lotions and creams.  As a little girl I felt completely entitled to all of my mom’s products… after all, I wanted to feel glamorous and like a queen!

This Mother’s Day I’m repaying my mom for all the mess, stress and sleepless nights I’ve given her as a little girl!  And I can’t think of a more perfect gift to do so with. This L’Occitane gift set includes all things necessary to nourish your skin and feel renewed.  After all, mommies need to be pampered.

Soprano Off the Shoulder Dress | Kristin Cavallari Booties | DW Watch | Tory Burch Studs | Pendant Necklace (similar) | Coach Bag | Oliver Peoples Sunglasses

Happy Friday!!  I hope everyone had a great week!  Little O has been teething all week, so this mama has upped her coffee intake… Seriously, how many cups is too many at this rate??

I wore this off the shoulder dress to Tootsie’s Easter egg hunt a few weeks back and got so many compliments on it!  The best thing about it?  It’s under $50!  Talk about fooling everyone.  😉  The bow detail is just icing on the cake.

This white off the shoulder dress is perfect for any day time event, especially this Spring and coming into the Summer.  The over-sized bows make it sweet and playful.  I can promise you that this little number will be on repeat in my closet!

Happy Wednesday guys!

I can’t believe mid-April is already here.  Furthermore, I cannot believe that Easter is approaching… AKA will be here Sunday!  I’ve done most of the prepping for Olivia’s first Easter basket thanks to online shopping and frequent stops to Target this past week.  I ordered her first Easter basket from Pottery Barn and got it personalized!  I’m pretty giddy about putting everything together the night before.  I blame it on my childhood and the fact that I’m pretty Southern and love family traditions– I cannot wait to make some of our very own this Sunday.

Now, onto my look!  Nothing screams Spring like a floral maxi, right?  Today I’m talking about Spring florals, which I can’t get enough of.  This Yumi Kim Woodstock dress is perfect for Spring + Easter festivities.  I seriously cannot get enough of this designer.  She just gets it.  I paired my dress with booties to add a little edge to it’s feminine flare.  I think everyone needs a fun, bold floral piece in their wardrobe and this one is a must-have.

Have a great week!

xx

Hello, friends!

Let’s be honest… it’s been awhile since I’ve updated the blog. While it’s super lame on my end, I have no excuse other than ‘mom life’. That said, if I’m not constantly updating on here it means I’ve been extremely busy in my real life! However, I do need to get better about posting updates. From here on out, I’ll be updating at least once a week and letting you guys in on what’s been going on over here whether it’s interesting or not… This will include all things fashion-wise, mommy-wise, real-life-wise… you name it! Did I mention we’re about the start the building process? So expect exciting updates on that as well!

Today I’m sharing this beautiful blush lace halter dress from Lily Rain. This look is perfect for a ladies luncheon, wedding guest dress, to wear to your bestie’s baby shower… the options are endless! I dressed it up with my Prada clutch and nude Louboutin’s. I completed the look with my go-to + classic Prada clutch.

Off-the-shoulder Dress | VSA Necklace | Choker | Tory Burch Studs | Bracelets here and here | Kirstin Cavallari Booties  | Oliver Peoples Sunglasses | Chloe Crossbody

Happy Friday, friends!

We got back from San Diego on Wednesday and I must say– baby girl did great on her first trip! The plane ride up there was a breeze!!  We had a mild hiccup on the way back, only because the changing table slammed shut after using, making the loudest noise that any changing table in the world could make (of course!).  This frightened little bit, which led to screaming and me trying to soothe her in a tiny airplane bathroom.  It was a rough 5 minutes that felt like hours!!  I’m not quite scarred, but let’s just say my heart goes out to anyone traveling with a tiny babe.

On another note, I’m sharing one of my favorite travel dresses today!  This universal off-the-shoulder style can really dress up a look, while making it feminine and flirty.  You can wear this black mini pretty much to anything!  I played it up by layering a long VSA necklace, and my go-to booties.  I’ve gotten so much use out of these babies!!  I wore this look on our first night out in San Diego.  Although it rained half the time, I’m so glad we went!!  This mama needed to get out of Houston for a bit!

Hope everyone is enjoying these cooler temps and has a great weekend!!

Happy November guys! I’ve been a little MIA, but for good reason! My baby girl turned 2 months today, and she still doesn’t have a sleeping schedule down. Little peanut likes to party at night! I’ve never been more grateful for concealer and yoga pants…

Today I’m sharing my FAVORITE fur vest (linking an animal-friendly option, too). When Fall/Winter is here, this fur vest is one of my favorite pieces to layer with. The is one of my top pieces that I get at least two compliments each time I wear it– and I wear it a lot! Another trend that I’ve been obsessing over lately are chokers! Flashback to the 90s and high school days, right?! You’ll find a few of my favorite chokers in the links below. I love pairing these with a classic scoop, round or crew neckline.

Few of my favorite chokers:

LARIAT CHOKER NECKLACE
VELVET CHOKER
SOUTACHE CHOKER
SUEDE CHOKER
BLACK LACE CHOKER
STRETCH VELVET CHOKER
